The window has narrowed. The work continues. MOVE Solar NOW helps nonprofits, schools, faith organizations, multifamily properties, small businesses, and community-serving sites move from interest to assessment, readiness, and a practical 2027 clean-energy pathway.
You do not need to make a complex energy decision in panic. You need trusted guidance, clear information, and the right next step for your building, budget, mission, and community.

The deadline changed. The work did not stop.
MOVE Solar NOW now supports organizations that want to move from interest into readiness with clear information, trusted review, and a practical pathway toward future project decisions.
This phase is designed to help your team understand where your site stands, what information is needed, and whether solar, storage, resilience, or related clean-energy strategies may be appropriate for your building and mission.
MOVE Solar NOW does not guarantee savings, incentive eligibility, rebate amounts, tax outcomes, or project approval. Any incentive, Direct Pay, Safe Harbor, placed-in-service, or project timeline language must be confirmed through the appropriate technical, tax, and assessment review process.
C4GS and its partners are not tax advisors. Eligibility must be confirmed through technical review.
MOVE Solar NOW is a community-led solar readiness campaign organized by C4GS to help nonprofits, schools, faith organizations, multifamily housing leaders, small businesses, and community-serving property owners understand their clean-energy options with clarity.
This is not a traditional solar sales campaign. It is a readiness pathway designed to help organizations ask better questions, organize site information, review possible next steps, and connect with trusted partners when deeper technical, policy, financing, or implementation review is appropriate.
Safe Harbor was a federal provision that allowed eligible solar projects to lock in Investment Tax Credit rates by taking qualifying early action — spending at least 5% on costs like energy analysis, site survey, feasibility study, design, and permit and interconnection applications — before July 4, 2026. That window has now closed.
Projects moving forward today fall under a different federal timeline: they generally need to be placed in service by December 31, 2027 to claim the credit. MOVE Solar NOW helps your organization understand what that means for your site, your budget, and your timeline.
"You do not have to decide everything today. But you do need to understand your options before the window closes."
TRUST NOTE
Submitting this form does not create a commitment. Incentive eligibility, project savings, and Safe Harbor status must be confirmed through technical and tax review.
Eligible nonprofits and faith organizations can receive the full 50% ITC value as a direct IRS payment, even if they pay no federal income taxes. This changes the math significantly for mission-driven organizations. Your organization does not need a tax appetite to benefit.
Ownership, usage, roof/land conditions, and utility situation all affect whether a site qualifies. The evaluation process is free and designed to give your organization a clear answer.
The federal government offers a substantial tax credit toward solar installation costs — how much depends on your project and eligibility. The original Safe Harbor window to lock in the 2026 rate structure by beginning construction closed on July 4, 2026.
Projects starting now instead need to reach placed-in-service by December 31, 2027 to claim the credit under current rules.
Nonprofits: you can still receive this as a direct payment from the IRS, even with no federal tax burden — that part hasn't changed.
Separately, if your organization is income-qualifying or serves a low-income community, an additional bonus credit program is accepting applications through August 7, 2026. Worth checking regardless of your Safe Harbor status.
You do not need to be a solar expert to begin. MOVE Solar NOW is designed to help site leaders understand the opportunity, ask better questions, and connect with the right technical partners when the time is right.
